#SOL15- Today. This day. 1/27/15

Thank you to the Two Writing Teachers and the Slice of Life writing community for providing this opportunity to share our "slices." Thanks to Stacey, Anna, Beth, Tara, Dana and Betsy for creating a place for us to share our work. Check out the other slices and/or join in the fun!

My hubby :) Eighteen years ago today I started dating my hubby. We went to a Smashing Pumpkins concert. I wasn't really a fan of that music, but I was a fan of him.

January 27th every year!
My neighbor :) We celebrate the birthday of our amazing neighbor (and friend). Sherie is the kind of neighbor you read about in books and see on TV. She delivered dinners when I delivered babies. She's there with a glass of wine when I have to whine. She brings my boys sweet treats for every holiday yet she is the sweet spot in our lives.

Our niece :) Life is full of surprises. Some surprises have an immediate, gratifying effect and others unfold slowly and challenge those around you to learn in a way they never thought possible. Three years ago we expected our family to grow, but we all grew in ways we couldn't imagine. Gianna has taught those around her to set goals higher, dream bigger, and redefine expectations. Gianna has been a blessing to us all and we know the best is yet to come.

I love January 27th.

  1. Wow- I love your slice. So much to be happy about. Love the wine/ whine with your neighbor and also that you were a fan of your husband's but maybe not his music choice.

  3. Happiness is contagious, yes!
And I have a teensy bit of calendar envy. I guess I'd have to take notes for a year or two to put important events (beyond birthdays) onto the calendar.
Today was full. I'll give it that. :-)

  5. Well, now I think I love January 27th, too. I'm so jealous that you have a great neighbor like that. And Gianna is beautiful. Happy January 27th!
